CHAIRMAN OF BORD BIA SAYS FOOD INDUSTRY IS IN A GOOD PLACE
Export values for dairy products and ingredients exceeded 3 billion euro for the first time with meat and livestock accounting for 3.3 billion and prepared foods 1.6 billion.
Michael Carey says it is positive news.
“We’ve achieved 10 billion euro – it’s up 40 percent over the last four years, up 9 percent in the past year” he said.
“They’re a reflection of the cumulative effect…of the ambition and the ability of the businesses in this sector to grow their businesses”.
“It’s been a great year for many of them, and they’ve seen a realisation of those ambitions during the past year” he added.
