CALLS FOR PATIENT AUTHORITY
A Wexford TD has called for a new Patient Safety Authority to be brought into existence
It has come from Fine Gael’s Liam Twomey who called for the measure after recent lapses of care identified in Portaloise Hospital resulted in the deaths of four children
Speaking in Dail Eireann Liam Twomey said while HIQA is doing a good job an authority to deal specifically with patient concerns is needed
