CALLS FOR CHANGES TO AMBULANCE SERVICE FOLLOWING WEXFORD MAN’S DEATH LAST YEAR
The family of a Wexford man featured in a Prime Time programme about the National Ambulance Service say it’s too late for them but they want to help others.
Dan Berry died last year at his home in Wexford Town just a 3 minute drive from Wexford General Hospital after suffering a heart attack.
An ambulance was called but didn’t arrive at their home for 17 minutes because it had been on another call in Enniscorthy.
The Prime Time investigation broadcast last week – which included the Berry family – highlighted serious failures in ambulance response times across the country.
Dan’s son Dylan says they’ll never know if the ambulance had arrived more quickly whether their father would still be alive.
