BOOKS OF CONDOLENCE OPEN FOR TERRY WOGAN IN LIMERICK
People have begun signing books of condolence for the late broadcaster Terry Wogan at Limerick city and county council buildings in Dooradoyle and in Merchants Quay in Limerick city.
Fellow broadcast Brendan Balfe worked with Terry Wogan in RTÉ in Dublin before he left for the UK.
He said it was very brave of Terry to leave a permanent pensionable job to try his luck in London.
“He was trying to get further horizons so I think he sent over one…tape to the BBC, and they liked what they heard and asked him to do, I think it was Late Night Extra” he said.
“One of the late night progammes on – at that stage – the Light Programme, before it became Radio 2” he added.
