ALEXANDER PACTEAU FACING A MINIMUM OF 30 YEARS IN PRISON
The man who says he killed Irish student Karen Buckley could get a minimum 30 years in prison.
Alexander Pacteau will be sentenced on September 8th after pleading guilty at Glasgow High Court murdering the 24 year old.
The Judge in the case told the 21-year-old that the murder was a “motiveless, senseless, brutal attack.”
The family of Karen Buckley say they hope her killer will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

“He will get life behind bars – but in Scotland with life, you have a minimum punishment part of the sentence” he said.
“So she will have to fix that punishment part”.
“If you’re looking at particularly bad murders at recent years in Scotland, some of them have got up to around about a minimum of around 30 years” he added.
