CONSUMER LAW OVERHAUL TO OFFER CUSTOMERS MORE PROTECTION
Expiry dates on gift vouchers look set to be banned.
The government is publishing an overhaul of consumer law, which will toughen security for online shopping.
The changes will also cover price information for medical consultations – including GP visits.
Aideen Sheehan, consumer correspondent with the Irish Independent says it also applies to music streaming and apps.
“There’s a whole range of things – obviously nowadays we’re all we’re streaming video and we’re getting digital downloads for apps and for music and all kinds of things, which wouldn’t ahve been a feature in the past” he said.
