Learning Outcomes Improve At Deis Schools In County Wexford

LEARNING OUTCOMES IMPROVE AT DEIS SCHOOLS IN COUNTY WEXFORD

A new report on County Wexford’s DEIS schools shows learning outcomes have improved in recent years.

The study by the Economic and Social Research Institute, aims to inform future policies in the area.

The DEIS programme, provides additional funding and supports to schools with a concentration of disadvantaged students.

The are twenty primary schools in County Wexford eligible for the scheme and in addition 8 post primary schools are in the scheme.

The eleven rural DEIS schools in County Wexford are in Ballyhogue, Tagoat, Taghmon, Clonroche, Kilmore, Donard, Rathnure, Ballycullane, The Ballagh, Galbally and Coolgreaney.

The nine urban DEIS schools see three in Wexford town and New Ross, two in Enniscorthy and one in Bunclody.

There are eight post primary schools in the DEIS scheme in the county and they are Vocational Colleges in Adamstown, Bridgetown, Bunclody, Enniscorthy, Kilmuckridge, New Ross, Wexford and Ramsgrange.
