GOVERNMENT ACCUSED OF ‘SPINNING’ HOUSING LAND AVAILABALITY
New doubt is emerging about whether the Government will be able to deliver on it’s housing strategy.
It’s reported that only two thirds of land which is earmarked for homes in Dublin is correctly zoned.
The Sunday Independent says an email from a Department of the Environment official confirms that 30 thousand units can be built on available land.
But the figure being publicly cited is that there’s enough land for 46 thousand homes.
The Environment Minister Alan Kelly is under pressure to explain exactly what land is available – and for how many houses.
