SPORT: IRISH CRICKET TEAM LOSE WORLD CUP MATCH
Ireland still have one more chance to reach the quarter-finals of the Cricket World Cup despite being thrashed by India.
They lost by eight wickets in Hamilton.
Ireland need to beat Pakistan on Sunday, or hope the match is rained off, if they’re to reach the last-eight.
Meanwhile, Cricket Ireland have described as “vicious” and crass, an article in today’s Zimbabwe Herald relating to John Mooney.
The piece appears to sneer at Mooney’s battles with depression and alcohol, and holds him personally accountable for a controversial fielding decision that cost Zimbabwe victory in Saturday’s World Cup clash.
Cricket Ireland say they have contacted the ICC to assess what route to take.
