LOUTH MAN ‘SHOCKED’ PRINTING COMPANY REFUSE TO PRINT CIVIL PARTNERSHIP INVITATIONS
A hairdresser in Co Louth says he was shocked when a printing company he had worked with for four years refused to print the invitations to his civil partnership.
Beulah Print * Design in Drogheda told Jonathan Brennan that they would not meet the order because they do not support gay marriage.
In a statement, the company said they are bible believing Christians – and while they are not against homosexuals they do not support same sex marriage, and feel printing wedding invitations would go against those beliefs.
Jonathon Brennan said he would like to have known the company’s beliefs before he ever did business with them.
“He went on to explain that if somebody had came in with a picture of a naked woman and they wanted it printed on to a poster, they would have to refuse that businesses as well” he said.
“Which horrified me that he was comparing an invitation to a pornographic image”.
“My response to him was that I would have hoped that he may be had made me aware of his conflict of interest four years ago before I stared doing business with him” he added.
