SPORT: REPORTS ANDY LEE’S DEFENCE OF WORLD TITLE NOT IN IRELAND
It’s being reported that Andy Lee’s first defence of his World title will not be in Ireland.
According to The Star newspaper it will take place in New York on April 11th against Peter Quillin with a prize fund of around 1 million dollars on offer for the Limerick man.
Qullin who’s known as Kid Chocolate vacated the belt last year despite a big money offer to defend his title against Matt Korobov.
Korobov went on to lose a title fight against Lee.
It was thought Lee would fight in Dublin on March 14th, however he stands to make up 4 times what he would have made on that bout if he goes to New York.
