SPORT: MCHALE CRITICISES MAYO COUNTY BOARD
Liam McHale says that he will never again be involved with a Mayo county team after the manner that he and Kevin McStay were overlooked for the job.
The County Board chairman Paddy McNicholas is coming under fire for the way in which they have appointed joint managers Noel Connelly and Pat Holmes as the successors to James Horan.
Connelly and Holmes were chosen ahead of the former St Brigids pairing of McStay and McHale but it’s now emerged that the appointment was made without going through the normal interview process.
McHale says that it’s a disappointing way to end his long association with Mayo football.
