DROP IN LIVE REGISTER FIGURES FOR CO WEXFORD
The number of people on the live register has fallen in County Wexford – dropping by 8.2 per cent since last year.
The drop follows a similar trend nationally and in the South East region.
There were 17,212 people on the live register in County Wexford at the end of August – a monthly drop of 1.9 per cent when compared with July.
Both the under and over 25 category have also seen a drop.
There are now 2,815 people under 25 signing on in the county – a drop of 2.6 per cent compared to July.
While there’s been a 1.8 per cent decrease in those over 25 signing on with 14,397 now on the live register.
In total there are now 1,549 less people on the register in the county over the past year.
The 8.2 per cent year-on-year drop is almost exactly the same as the decrease seen both nationally and in the South East region.
