SPORT: BERTRAM ALLEN PICKS UP FAULTS ON DAY 2 OF WORLD EQUESTRAIN GAMES
Wexford’s Bertram Allen has dropped from his first place standing following his second round in Normandy at the World Equestrian Games.
A breathtaking win in the opening speed competition yesterday saw the Enniscorthy teenager take first spot but the 19 year-old was unable to complete a clear round picking up 4 faults this morning.
Allen is also part of Team Ireland – they’re hoping to secure a top 5 finish in order to qualify for the olympics in 2016.
So far Ireland’s Darragh Kenny has also picked up 4 faults.
The teams remaining riders Tipperary’s Denis Lynch and Mayo’s Cameron Hanley will jump later this afternoon.
