3 IRELAND PHONE NETWORK TO CUT JOBS
Three Ireland is to cut 160 jobs at its head office and shops, as part of its takeover of the O2 network.
O2 currently have two outlets in County Wexford – one in Wexford Town and the other in New Ross.
The mobile phone company says 75 jobs will go at its retail division and 85 from its head office.
It also says it won’t be extending the contracts of a number of staff when they expire.
In a statement, the company says the cuts follow an extensive planning and consultation process that is ongoing with employees.
Meanwhile, Three says 90 new customer care roles will be created in Limerick over next 12 months.
