SPORT: GIBSON INCLUDED IN IRELAND SQUAD FOR FRIENDLY AND EURO QUALIFIER
Darron Gibson has been named in the Ireland squad to face Oman in a freindly and Georgia in a Euro qualifier next month.
A 36 man panel – including Wexford’s Kevin Doyle – was named today but that will be shortened before they assemble on August 31st.
The Everton midfielder missed most of last season with a knee injury but Ireland manager Martin O’Neill says the former Manchester United player is building up his fitness.
Meanwhile O’Neill says he’s unsure where the international future of talented young Aston Villa player Jack Grealish lies.
The 18 year old has played underage football for Ireland and is a promising midfield talent but O’Neill says he has yet to commit himself to Ireland.
