OVER HALF A MILLION EURO IN DRUGS SEIZED AT ROSSLARE EUROPORT
Over 500,000 euro worth of drugs has been seized at Rosslare Europort.
Two men have been arrested and are being questioned at Wexford Garda Station.
As a result of routine profiling, officers from Revenue’s Customs Service seized heroin, ecstasy, cannabis resin and LSD tablets at Rosslare Europort yesterday.
The haul has an estimated street value of over 530,000 euro.
Officers discovered the drugs, concealed in the fuel tank of a UK registered vehicle that had disembarked a ferry that arrived from Cherbourg, when Ralph, a member of Revenue’s Canine Team gave an indication.
The two male occupants, a 40 year old Scottish national and 34 year old Irish national were arrested.
They’re currently being questioned at Wexford Garda Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile an articulated truck was stopped and searched on the M1 near Drogheda last night.
It was found to contain 27 kilos of heroin, worth over 4 million euro.
A 40 year old man and 43 year old woman were arrested at the scene, while another man, also 40, was detained in a follow up search.
Separately, two men were arrested following the discovery of 32 kilos of cocaine, worth 2. 24 million euro at a house on Stillorgan Road in Donnybrook in Dublin.
Two men aged 27 and 37 were arrested at the scene.
