Taoiseach Fielding Calls From Everywhere After His ‘call Me’ Remarks

TAOISEACH FIELDING CALLS FROM EVERYWHERE AFTER HIS ‘CALL ME’ REMARKS

The Taoiseach has hinted that he may just be regretting his now infamous “call me anytime” remarks to business leaders in Washington.

Enda Kenny has told an audience at a US Embassy event in Dublin this morning that he is now fielding calls from all over the world.

He says he hoped it sent out a signal that Ireland is open for business.

But the Taoiseach says he is now overwhelmed with calls, not all of which “are what you might expect”.

“I said to people ‘well look, you’re all involved in the business – here’s my phone number if you want to call me'” he said.

“Christ – I’m getting phone calls from Adelaide and New Zealand and everywhere”.

“Some of them are not what you might expect – they’re not all about industry” he added.
