SPORT: GAA CONFIRM DEAL WITH SKY SPORTS
The GAA have confirmed that they have awarded exclusive broadcast rights to Sky Sports for the next three years.
The subscription service broadcaster has effectively replaced TV3 after buying the rights to exclusively show 14 championship games per year and will also be able to broadcast the All-Ireland hurling and football semi-finals and finals.
Sky’s 14-game package includes eight Saturday evening qualifiers, two football championship quarter-finals, two Saturday evening and two Sunday provincial games.
RTE will continue to show a total of 31 senior championship matches while TG4 has regained the rights to broadcast the All-Ireland Minor finals.
Radio coverage of GAA games remains with RTÉ and Newstalk.
