SPORT: WEXFORD LOSE TO CORK IN HURLING LEAGUE BUT STILL MAKE Q/Fs
The Wexford hurlers gave a fighting performance but were always playing catch-up to a fine Cork side at Park Ui Rinn, eventually losing out by 2-24 to 1-10.
The result means Cork are promoted back to Division 1A and Wexford have the consolation of a quarter-final game against Kilkenny in Wexford Park next Sunday.
Kilkenny themselves piled on the scores against Waterford in Division 1A, running out victors by 4-22 to 0-14.
