FORMER WEXFORD HURLING STAR PAUL CODD ARRESTED
The High Court had issued a warrent for his arrest in October after the 37 year-old failed to deal with bankruptcy proceedings.
Paul Codd, an All-Ireland medal winner with Wexford in 1996, was arrested at his home on Saturday after a warrant for his arrest was executed by Gardaí.
The 37 year-old was to be brought before the High Court upon his arrest but as the Court was not in sitting he was taken to Mount Joy Prison.
Mr Codd was adjudicated bankrupt by the High Court last March over a failure to satisfy a judgment for €530,000 secured against him in 2011.
Mr Chris Lehane, the official assignee in bankruptcy, previously told the court that several attempts were made to ensure Mr Codd would engage with the bankruptcy process.
However, he failed to do so and Mr Lehane’s view is the former hurling star is in contempt of court.
Paul Codd will be brought before the High Court as soon as the Court is in sitting once again.
