Thousands of parents could miss out on a childcare grant of just over €1,000
It’s emerged that more than 40% of childcare providers have not signed up to the new affordable care scheme.
It means parents may have to move their children to another creche if they want to avail of the support – which comes into effect on Friday.
Some providers say they won’t participate in the scheme because of administration costs and a lack of information about it.
