Garda crime figures are under the spotlight again – this time in relation to domestic abuse. The charity, which works with domestic abuse victims, hopes new Garda recording guidelines will provide a more accurate picture. Meanwhile, Fianna Fáil’s Stephen Donnelly has denied his party’s stance on the Garda Commissioner is designed to avoid an election. Fianna Fáil say they don’t have confidence in Noirin O’Sullivan to do her job as head of the force. But they’re unwilling to support Sinn Féin’s no confidence vote in the Dail.
