A New Ross councillor has hit out at the proposed 50 euro charge that the Government is thinking of adding to the Free Travel Pass.
The Free Travel pass is given to elderly people and people with disabilities to help them travel around and participate in society.
The Department of Social Protection has proposed a 50 euro annual charge for the pass to help pay for public services.
But Fianna Fail councillor Michael Sheehan believes the pass should remain available to anyone who needs it.
