Wexford Festival Opera is set its extend its run to eighteen days duration from next year The decision follows record ticket sales for the event this year The Festival had been running for eighteen days but when the recession hit in 2009 it was cut back to twelve days Now with income up five per cent this year and ticket sales for the three operas reaching one point seven million euro, the decision has been made to extend the event by an extra six days bringing in a third weekend Over twenty three thousand tickets were sold for fifty four performances this year including evening operas in the National Opera House to various daytime operas and recitals
