STRIKING OFF TEACHERS
New rules will allow teachers to be struck off if they’re found guilty of serious misconduct.
Under the Fitness to Teach system anyone can report a case to the Teaching Council.
Complaints found to be serious enough will be referred on to a disciplinary committee.
The new system – which comes into force today – will make it easier for parents, students and other teachers – to lodge complaints about teachers.
