85 MILLION ANNOUNCED FOR LOCAL AUTHORITIES FOLLOWING FLOODING
The Minister for Tranport has announced 85 million euro to help local authorities deal with the impact of recent flooding.
The money is being allocated to repair infrastructure damaged by a series of storms this winter.
Enniscorthy was one of the worst hit areas in County Wexford recently after homes and businesses in low lying areas of the town saw their premises flood.
Minister Paschal Donohoe says the money is being made available immediately to local authorities to allow them begin work now.
In addition, Transport Infrastructure Ireland and Irish Rail are to receive 8 million euro each.
