29 IRISH WATER STAFF ON 100,000 EURO SALARIES
The government has written to the head of Irish Water John Tierney, asking him to explain the bonus arrangements for 29 staff members.
It’s emerged the workers qualify for bonuses of 15 percent of their salaries.
The figures were revealed by the Department of the Environment following a question by Labour TD Kevin Humphreys.
It also emerged that 29 staff are being paid more than 100,000 euro.
Deputy Humphreys says there are still a lot of questions that remain unanswered.
“We nee dot find out exactly who’s receiving the 15 percent bonuses and the 14 percent bonuses – we have to find out what their role is” he aid.
“Whether bonuses is really acceptable in this utility or not; I’ve always had question marks even in the private sector over the payment of bonuses to high earners” he added.
