15 YEAR-OLD GIRL STABBED IN CLONARD VILLAGE
Gardai are appealing for information from the public following a brutal assault on a young girl in Wexford at the weekend.
The fifteen year old had a broken bottle slashed across her stomach.
The girls ordeal happened on Saturday evening at Clonard village when she was walking to a friends house a short distance from her home.
Two men asked her for a cigarette and when she replied she did not have one they set upon her and one man ripped a glass bottle from her, broke it and stabbed her in the stomach.
The fifteen year was taken to a nearby house from where she was brought to Wexford General Hospital where she was treated for lacerations.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the incident and are examining CCTV footage in the area.
The men have been described as of medium height and build one was drerssed in black and the other wore a grey top and Adidas tracksuit.
The incident occured in a small alleyway close to Clonard village and Wexford gardai are appealing for information from anyone in that vicinity on Saurday evening last.
